This Vintage 1960s charm necklace features a pair of castanets set in 9 carat yellow gold vermeil. The Spanish castanets are strung allowing them to move easily, they are very unusual to find.

Castanets are a percussion instrument used in ancient Rome, Italy, Portugal and most famously Spain. Castanets are often played by singers or dancers, they would have originally been made from two concave shells joined with string.
This solid charm has been styled with a new 9ct yellow gold chain. This original 1960s silver charm has been converted into a 9ct yellow gold plated charm.
MEASUREMENTS
The charms measures 1.9cm / 0.7" in height and 0.7cm / 0.2" in width. The charm hangs from a new 9ct yellow gold cm / 18” chain.
