Vintage 1974 sterling silver rectangular locket featuring an engraved floral design. This charming locket closes securely and has two areas for pictures. The pendant hangs from a new sterling silver adjustable chain and Victorian style Albert clip.
The Locket is perhaps the most mysterious and alluring pieces of jewellery. Only the wearer knows what secrets lie within the locket. It has to be the ultimate love token. During the Victorian era, young Victorian women would hide a picture of a man they admired, if the man offered up a lock of hair a marriage proposal usually would follow. Lockets were considered a statement of an intention to marry.
