Vintage 1970's sterling silver Locket featuring delicate etched detailing on the front and back of the piece. This vintage locket is sterling silver indicated by the hallmark 925.
The Locket is perhaps the most mysterious and alluring pieces of jewellery. Only the wearer knows what secrets lie within the locket. It has to be the ultimate love token.
During the Victorian era, young Victorian women would hide a picture of a man they admired, if the man offered up a locket of hair a marriage proposal usually would follow. Lockets were considered a statement of an intention to marry.

The locket measures 2cm / 0.8” in height and 2.1cm / 0.8” in length and 4.9mm / 0.1” in width. The pendant hangs from a 1970's 18" vintage sterling silver chain.
CONDITION:
The locket is in excellent vintage condition, the locket closes securely and the piece is free of dents and scratches.
