About antique lockets
Few pieces of jewelry are as personal as a locket. The Victorians wore them to keep loved ones close, tucking a portrait, a lock of hair or a pressed flower inside. Each locket in this collection opens to reveal space for your own keepsake.
What to look for
Victorian lockets are often beautifully engraved with flowers, birds or initials, and some are set with seed pearls, rubies or diamonds. Gold lockets were made in 9K and 15K gold, and silver lockets in sterling. Black jet and enamel lockets were worn in mourning, often holding a portrait or hair of the person remembered.
