Vintage 1930's Rolled Gold Mother of Pearl 'Mother' Brooch Pin
Description
Vintage Art Deco 1930s mother of pearl brooch with word 'Mother'. This type of brooch was typically given to a lady from her sweetheart or son, often a soldier or sailor before he left for duty, as a token of affection.
The word 'Mother' is mounted in a rolled gold wire on a mother of pearl base and secured with a rolled gold open 'c' clasp. Rolled gold is a thin layer of gold on a base metal and fused together by heating.
MEASUREMENTS
The brooch measures 4.2cm / 1.6" in length and 1.1cm / 0.4" in height.
CONDITION
The brooch is in excellent vintage condition.
