Vintage Art Deco Conch Shell Cameo 9ct Gold Ring
Description
Art Deco ring featuring a carved face from a pale pink and white conch shell set into a 9ct gold ring. Conch shells are used to carve cameos in Italy. The ring is dates between 1910 - 1940s, it most probably 1920s due to the ring setting.
Cameo jewellery became very popular in the early 19th century cameos features Roman women. Victorian women on the Grand Tour brought home these pieces from places such as Italy and Greece.
