Vintage flower ring featuring turquoise cabochon set with a halo of eight pearls in 9ct gold setting. This beautiful ring has a number of marks indicating the piece was hallmarked in Birmingham, England set in 9ct yellow gold.
Turquoise was popular during the Romantic and Aesthetic periods of the Victorian era. They believed the stone brought good fortune and protected the wearer from evil and harm. The Victorians also enjoyed the pop of colour against the richness of gold. Pearls in the Victorian era were associated with a number of symbols such as innocence, purity, humility and harmony.
