Vintage 1960s Scottish Kilt Pin Contemporary Modernist Brooch
Description
The Scottish wear kilt pins on the lower corner of the outer apron of the kilt, it is designed to stop the skirt from flapping. It is said these pins were introduced in the Victorian era because Queen Victoria wanted to keep the anatomy the wearer more private than it had previously.
Our vintage 1960s kilt pin is excellent in quality and contemporary in its design, this modernist pin could be worn on a kilt or used as a brooch. It is common to see charms hanging on a the pin of this style or simply on its own. It is heavy in weight with a sharp strong pin.
The pin is marked 'JC', SILVER', indicating the piece was made by 'JC' who has not been identified and it is made from sterling silver.
